Sleeker lines reflects its GT-style touring aspirations

We are being teased, by this, the one photo that Gumpert (the German people responsible for bringing us the Apollo) has released of their new car to be revealed at next month’s Geneva show.

This car is called the Tornante, and judging from the picture, Gumpert seem to be cleaning up their act as the lines and shape generally seem sleeker than the Apollo.

This is, I suppose, reflective of Gumpert’s aims for the car, as they will be marketing the Tornante as a GT-style supercar capable of pulling off long distance touring.

That doesn’t mean that it’s going to be slow either, as it sports the same 700bhp twin-turbo 4.2-litre V8 that can be found in its older brother.

Following its debut in Geneva, the manufacturers (based in Altenburg, Germany) expect to begin delivering the car to customers some time next year.

Exciting times indeed.
